๐ How accounts work
You don't sign up with an email, phone, or password. When you create a profile
you're given a private
account number โ a bit like Mullvad VPN. That number
is your identity and your login, on this or any device. Keep it somewhere
safe: it's the only way in, and
there is no reset.
- โ
Signal's audited crypto โ Kyber1024 PQXDH, Double Ratchet, SPQR post-quantum ratchet, sealed sender.
- โ
The server never sees plaintext โ or, under sealed sender, even who sent a message.
- โ
Anonymous by design โ a random account number, not your identity. Pick any username for friends to find you.
- โ
Encrypted on your device โ your local vault is sealed with your account number (Argon2id + XChaCha20).
- โ
Verify people yourself โ compare a safety number; the relay can't impersonate.
- โ
Stays current โ the app updates itself when a new version ships.
Installing on Android: tap download, then open the APK. Your phone will ask
you to allow installs from your browser (and Samsung phones: turn off Auto
Blocker in Settings โ Security & privacy). That's expected for an app
installed directly rather than from a store.
Unofficial build, self-hosted relay. The cryptographic protocol is Signal's
audited libsignal; the app around it is a personal project and
not independently audited. The same account number works on Android and desktop.
